Working with Sarah on all her projects begins with hearing the song or album and deeply analyzing the lyrics, music, and general feel of the recordings in order to create the cover art that perfectly reflects that. Normally, I add in literal elements from the title or part of the lyrics to the album art to accompany a photo of Sarah, or to stand alone as an art piece. A font is chosen by the same feel, and is placed strategically in the design. With most consumers streaming or purchasing digital copies of music, it's important to create an eye catching cover that will be seen in a small thumbnail format. In addition to covers, I've also designed a variety of show posters for Sarah, incorporating the city she's playing into the design for local recognition purposes. A digital EPK was also put together, stretching my layout design skills to create a document that serves as a digital resume for potential industry presentations and venue owners.
